ARA describes Designer Andrea Vollf as speaking of “transforming an ordinary home into a living oasis using neutrals, especially warm and cool grays, along with bold accent pieces”, with Jan Hubbard and Candice Mathers reporting a rise in the demand for deep blues by clients, and Hubbard seeing “spice, bisque, toast and green/gold tones to create a warm ambiance”. According to top designers, the color yellow will be found in every shade from sunlight to Dijon mustard.
Little Sistines
A mural can transform any space, bestowing it with attitude. Just like pilgrims to the Sistine Chapel, boring walls turn into conversation pieces that garner oohs-and-aahs. There appears to be no stopping the popularity of the mural. If you can envision it, you can accomplish it with a mural. Metal wall decorations go especially well with murals.
Knocking on Wood
Just as it has since the days of Noah, wood will still be popular in 2010. The sheer variety of wood and faux wood products these days make wood a popular means to jazz up any space, and, mind you, we’re not talking only about the floor, but about the ceiling and the wall as well.
